Seedy Saturday 2023 – Helpers needed!

Seedy Saturday is Lewes’ annual seed swap, gardening and growing event that attracts hundreds of visitors. Now it’s looking for volunteers, including those who can help with social media, as Vicki Trenhaile of Common Cause explains.

Seedy Saturday is a much-loved and long-running community event that takes place on the first Saturday in February, usually at Lewes Town Hall.

Seedy Saturday provides opportunities for people of all ages to swap seeds, learn about seeds and plants, attend talks, hear about local community growing activities, and buy seeds, garden products and food from local, independent enterprises.

The event is run by a partnership of local organisations and individuals that form a steering group as a sub-group of Common Cause. It is a financially sustainable event and has a remit to try to reach people from many different backgrounds.

The Steering Group is looking for people to help build on Seedy Saturday’s success and reach more people. All helpers in any capacity are welcome. We are especially keen to increase our profile using social media and to create an image that the public will identify with and help us spread our message.

If that’s something you can help with – or you would like to be involved in Seedy Saturday Lewes 2023 in some other way, please contact seedysaturdaylewes@gmail.com
