Lewes’ fantastic environmental education charity based in the Railway Land Nature Reserve is looking for someone special to be their new Chair. Do you fit the bill – or know someone who could?

The Railway Land Wildlife Trust is an environmental education charity, based at the Linklater Pavilion on the Railway Land Local Nature Reserve in Lewes. Since 1988, it’s been inspiring environmental sustainability by bringing nature to the heart of Lewes. As well as an innovative schools programme, it runs a mental health project, community events, and is very active in supporting and promoting nature-based solutions to climate change.

The Trust’s activities are made possible by the hard work of 11 trustees with a range of skills and experience, four members of staff and a large team of volunteers.  The trustees are now actively looking for a new Chairperson to help lead Railway Land Wildlife Trust forward.

Candidates should:

  • preferably be local, with strong environmental credentials and enthusiasm about the aims of the Railway Land Wildlife Trust
  • have experience of committees and boards
  • be able to accept a voluntary role and be willing to contribute about 10 hours a month.

If you are that person, or you know someone who is, please get in touch with Helen Meade at coordinator@railwaylandproject.org
