This spring, Plastic Free Lewes will be inviting individuals, businesses and organisations across Lewes to sign up to the Plastic Free Lewes Pledge – a promise to cut down on single-use plastic, a big culprit behind global plastic pollution.

To inspire people to sign up to the Pledge, Plastic Free Lewes is making a short film to be premiered at Depot Cinema – and you’re invited to be part of it.

How you can get involved

Simply film a 7-10-second selfie video on your phone, stating ONE thing you’re doing to cut down on single-use plastic, and send it to the email/WhatApp address below.

It could be that you’ve got yourself a reusable takeaway coffee cup. Or you’re taking your own containers when you go grocery shopping. Or you’ve lobbied your supermarket to use less plastic. Whatever you’re doing we want to hear about it and feature you in our film to inspire others.

Just follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Hold your phone vertically/portrait style – and be in good light (ideally outdoors – but not in direct sunlight)

Step 2: Say “I pledge to XXXXXXX” (say ONE thing you pledge to do – be as imaginative as you like!)

Step 3: Wait 5 seconds then say: “Sign the pledge!”

That’s it. Then email your video selfie to lassalledahlan@gmail.com  or What’sApp it to 07931 362 553

Ask friends and family too
To make our film as powerful as possible we’re looking to get 100s of selfie video – so ask your kids, family and friends to film one too. If you’ve got any questions, call us on 07887 556 177. We look forward to seeing your selfie!
