(Organised by Transition Town Lewes Food Group)
Missed breakfast, need a snack for after school or a change in the lunchbox? Then bake a nutritious, tasty muffin where the star ingredient is a vegetable.
Muffins entered should be made from vegetables which can be readily grown or foraged in Britain at this time of year.
Here is a chance to try your hand and show off your skills and maybe win a trophy!
[make sure you bake on the day – freshness is a key to success!]
– Muffins here are the American type not the English. They should contain flour and eggs [not battery] as well as optional fat, sugar, spices, dried fruit or cheese.
– All the vegetable ingredients must be those which can be readily grown in a local kitchen garden, orchard, allotment, field or unheated glasshouse or gathered in the countryside.
– Muffins made from a non-local main ingredient eg. Avocado, will not be eligible.
– All entries will be judged on appearance, taste and texture. The name of the producer and the packaging will not be seen by the judges.
Please present this form with a copy of your recipe attached, 2 muffins, wrapped, [named] and the entry fee of £1 to the Muffin Stall by 1.00 pm. The winners will be announced at 2.00pm.
