The South Coast Alliance on Transport & Environment (SCATE) has produced a six-minute film on East Sussex & Highways England’s proposals to build a new four-lane dual carriageway to run alongside the A27 from Lewes to Polegate.
As it outlines in the film, SCATE believes the plan could be catastrophic in terms of damage to local wildlife habitats, increasing local traffic and wasting £1 billion in public money.
For more information about the NO NEW A27 campaign and how you can support it, plus SCATE’s full report on the proposals, visit the SCATE website.
All that is needed to improve the A27 is to improve visibility in certain places where this is bad.
Hi. Thanks everyone. I use the A27 and it’s mainly good. I think it needs lots of tweeks to reduce pinch points, I think these could be done for 50 million. I’m glad I don’t use it in the rush hours. Do the Main objectors use it I wonder. Best wishes. Roger.
