The PV Feed-in Tariff cuts were announced on 31 October. The FiT rate has been reduced by half – as from the 12th of December 2011 (cut brought forward from 31st March 2012). Details of the proposed cuts and a chance to have your say during the consultation period via this link at FiT review.

These cuts will have a serious effect on both domestic and larger scale PV installations in the short/medium term and hit installers hard (all boom and bust for microgeneration again). See Our Solar Future as they are campaigning against the cuts, should any individual want to campaign.

If you are planning to install PV at the moment, make sure you have your system commissioned before the 12th December 2011 to avoid the reduced FiT rate.
