Global Day for Climate Justice

During the COP26 UN Global Climate Summit, join the Brighton COP26 Coalition demonstration to call on world leaders for strong and just climate action

The COP26 Coalition is a UK-based civil society coalition of groups and individuals mobilising around climate justice during the United Nations Climate Summit known as COP26. Coalition members include environment and development NGOs, trade unions, grassroots community campaigns, faith groups, youth groups, migrant and racial justice networks – to name a few. Global Day for Climate Justice
The Coalition will be mobilising in various ways in Glasgow itself during COP26. The centre of the mobilisation efforts is the Global Day for Climate Justice on Saturday 6 November. This is the middle weekend of the COP negotiations. There will be a significant demo in Glasgow itself, and the Coalition has also called for demonstrations and events to take place both around the world on this day, and around the UK.

Brighton COP26 Coalition
In Brighton a group of activists, including from Extinction Rebellion, Global Justice Now, Young Greens and local trade unions are organising a Brighton demo on 6 November. This will gather at The Level at 12noon, and set off at 1pm on a march to Hove Lawns.

The aim is to encourage an accessible, broad-based mobilisation to demonstrate wide support for strong and equitable climate action within a lively and convivial atmosphere.

  • Start The Justice Transition

3  Global Climate Justice: Reparations and redistribution to indigenous communities and the Global South

  • Fair share of effort from all rich countries
  • Cancel the debts of Global South by all creditors
  • Grant-based climate finance for the Global South
  • Reparations for the loss and damage already happening in the Global South
