COP with the Climate Hub at Depot

1-12 November, Studio at Depot Cinema, FREE
As part of the Depot Climate Action! Festival, join affiliate groups of Lewes Climate Hub for exhibitions, talks and workshops each afternoon in Depot Studio, including a Family Activities Day and a People’s Climate Assembly.

As part of Depot’s Climate Action! Festival (to tie in with the COP26 Global Climate Summit in Glasgow), affiliate groups of Lewes Climate Hub will be hosting exhibitions, talks, workshops and more in the Depot Studio every afternoon (except Friday 5th November).

Food, transport, housing and more

Each day has a different theme that needs to be addressed at the global, community and personal level to tackle the climate and environmental challenges we face – from food to energy, transport to biodiversity, housing to climate justice, consumerism to money. Lewes District Council will also be on hand to showcase its plans, actions and support to reduce carbon emissions.

Family activities and personal workshops

Sunday 7 November will see an afternoon of fun activities for the family, including how good we are at cutting our carbon footprint, how renewable energy works, the science of climate change, and making nature art. Guy Gladstone of The Climate Psychology Alliance will be hosting a number of free workshops throughout the fortnight to explore personal emotions and motivations around climate change and action (booking required via the Depot website).

People’s Climate Assembly

Finally at 4.30pm on Friday 12 November, a People’s Climate Assembly will let anyone have their say on sustainable housing and transport for Lewes District through a facilitated discussion, where all voices will be valued and fed back to Lewes District Council.
